An important message from Brian Harpur, MD of GRP Solutions:
I would like to thank you for your custom and support over the last six years. Our vision has always been to provide world class service and we have also strived to build a culture of collaboration, team spirit and community. We recognise that in these challenging of times that we need to continue to invest and challenge our business to deliver ever improved customer service. I am delighted to share with you that GRP Solutions will shortly have a new home in Portsmouth. Our move is driven not only by the need for more space but primarily by our desire to improve our efficiency, on time deliveries and being able to offer a wider range of services to our customers. The new facility will incorporate a much improved trade counter. We have invested in improved racking and also innovative automated warehouse management technology to increase the speed and accuracy of picking items. Our new Agilon will automatically store, retrieve and monitor stock levels of all of our consumable products to ensure that customers receive the best in class service. We have also expanded and strengthened our internal sales and custom quality team and we welcome Mihaela Lefter and Linda Rance to the team. Our aim is to improve our inbound response times for telephone calls, emails and order processing, along with sales campaigns in line with customer requirements. We continue to monitor our performance and investigate continuously how we can improve the quality of our service as part of our ISO 9001 procedures. We are also widening training opportunities for our staff to expand their skill sets and deepen their industry knowledge. Our long term plan is to open our own training academy to support our customers, suppliers and local colleges.
Looking towards a more sustainable future our move will embrace changes in packaging, renewable energy, electric vehicle charging points and rain water harvesting amongst other sustainability efforts. However, our business ambition goes beyond that. We are partnering with the University of Strathclyde on a major composites industry project to recycle end of life composite material and drive towards a more circular economy.
Community is one of the central pillars of our culture, and we are proud to have recently become a patron of Shaping Portsmouth, a not-for-profit company whose vision is to improve the way we invest, live, learn and work in the city. We aim to get actively involved in a number of local business initiatives as well as support Unloc, who develop young people’s skills, enhance their potential and boost their determination to succeed. With business managers based around the UK we are also keen to expand our support of Community projects in other regions. We also continue to support Naomi House and Jacksplace hospices and a number of grass roots sports organisations.
I am immensely proud of how our team has pulled together during the pandemic and has worked with our customers and suppliers to provide quality service and solutions. We know that as we move through these challenging times and as the economy hopefully recovers that there will be a growing demand for continually improved and innovative products and services. We are ready to support your business and we are investing to ensure we stay at the forefront of the composite distribution industry.
